Funeral Service for Ricardo Ortiz Caldera, 51, Kansas City, MO will be at 7:00 p.m. with a visitation one-hour prior on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at La Fe En Jesucristo Church in Kansas City, KS. Ricardo passed away on November 13, 2019 in Kansas City, MO. Ricardo was born on January 11, 1968 in Hidalgo del Parral Chihuahua, Mexico; Son of Tomas Ortiz and Alicia Caldera. Ricardo was devoted to his family and faith. He was courageous, humble, persistent and optimistic. He served as an usher and choir member at church and graduated from the Bible Institute. He loved his dog, music, singing, and playing the guitar. He worked in hospitality for more than fifteen-years and made great friends along the way; guests and coworkers would describe him as loyal, kind, patient and very cheerful. He was a soccer coach, a baseball coach assistant, a sports fan, a security guard and a police officer with honors in Mexico. He was meticulous about his vehicles and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was adventurous, loved to travel often and had fun shopping for good deals, especially his clothes. He was working towards obtaining his GED to pursue a certification in HVAC. He became a U.S. Citizen this past August, fulfilling one of his dreams. He was a wonderful smart man, an amazing lovable grandfather. He is loved and will be missed by many. Ricardo is survived by his wife, Claudia; six children, Viviana (Willi), Claudia (Antonio), Ricardo Jr., Genesis, Yarina, and Vashty; grandchildren, Esmeralda, Eliana, Anthony, Isaac and Damian. Parents, Tomas and Alicia Ortiz; six siblings, Manuel, Monica, Tomas, Omar, Cesar, Gerardo. Second Visitation will be on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at Larkin & Garcia Funeral Care with burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
