Catherine Scruggs

Catherine Scruggs passed away September 1, 2021 due to chronic health issues and COVID complications. She now joins both parents Felix Hernandez and Rosa Guiterrez- Hernandez; Sisters Jennie Rodrizuez, Mary Garcia, Pauline Hernandez; Brothers Frank and Felix Hernandez Jr.; Sons Timothy and Christopher Scruggs. She leaves behind her sister, Rosalie Worrell; Brothers: Manuel, Louis, and Henio Hernandez; Children: Michael Hernandez, Stephanie Scruggs, Eric Scruggs (Wife-Stacy Ann), Theresa Warren, Stephen Scruggs IV, Stacia Kelsey (Husband-Marlin) and Cassandra Lyons. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grand children, cousins, nieces, nephews and many hearts she touched. We will miss her gentle and sweet spirit tremendously. Mom/Catherine loved the Arts in general, but she loved to draw, do arts and crafts, and write poetry until Tremors would no longer allow her to. She was a young free-hearted woman who could always make you laugh (and she was sure to make you blush too.) She enjoyed listening to her music and dancing in her seat to old R & B and Mexican music. She would groove to Little Joe and loved her some Eddie and Gerald Levert! Her favorite movies were all of the Jurassic Parks and King Kong movies. Mom knew the Lord Jesus as her Savior and would draw strength from Him. She was very loving, kind, forgiving and couldn't hurt a fly. She truly loved her family dearly! She leaves us rich with memories and love. Mom is good now. She is with all her loved ones who went before her and in the arms of Jesus… No more sickness, pain and suffering this world brings. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Larkin & Garcia Funeral Care. Masks will be required.
