Funeral Service for Desiderio "Tello" Vela De la O, 72, Gardner, Kansas, will be at Larkin and Garcia Funeral Care on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Desiderio passed away January 25, 2020 in Olathe, Kansas. Desiderio was born on December 25, 1947 in Tres Valles Veracruz the son of Emilio Vela Dolores (deceased) and Elena De la O Blanco, alive 87. Desiderio was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Another favorite thing of his was to celebrate his birthday. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, always willing to help others in need, regardless of the impact it might have on himself, a true friend. Desiderio is survived by his wife, Cirila Lucas Santiago; daughters, Maria E Vela Lucas, Veronica Vela Lucas, Elida Vela Lucas, and Liliana Schieber; sons Victor M Vela Lucas, Isaias Vela, grandchildren, Suly Garcia Vela, Gabriel Garcia Vela, Suri Garcia Vela, Idania Vela Lucas, Evelin Diaz Vela, Luis Diaz Vela, Irvin Luis, Stephanie Luis, Kyla Vela Lucas, Jennica Vela Lucas, Ariana Vela Olea, Isaiah Vela, Karina Vela, and many great grandchildren; siblings, Delfino Vela de la O and Macaria Vela de la O (deceased). Visitation will be at Larkin & Garcia Funeral Care from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1st, 2020.
