Service for James "Jim" Joseph Stackhaus, 64, Kansas City, KS, will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2019 at Larkin & Garcia Funeral Care. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Kansas City, Kansas. Jim passed away September 27, 2019 at his residence in Kansas City, Kansas. Jim was born November 25, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Joseph Richard Stackhaus and Marie F. Bauer. Jim met the love of his life, Deb, in about 1970. They were officially married April 28, 1973, and they remained together in love until his death. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1972. Their son, Joe, was also born in 1972, and Joe considered his dad to be his best friend. Jim was active in several sports in his neighborhood during his childhood and loved to play tennis throughout his life. He played softball for several years, and the very first game that Deb missed, he got knocked out at the plate. The team insisted she not miss any more games after that. Jim and Deb bowled essentially their whole lives, making many friends along the way. He earned a hard-earned college degree later in life, and worked as a banker most of his life. He owned a few small businesses during that time, including a lawn service, which he worked with Deb for more than 20 years. In 1997 and 1999, he became a proud grandfather, and his grandchildren, Deborah and Jonathan, loved him very much. Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, and he will be terribly missed. Jim is survived by his wife, Deborah Louise Stackhaus, KCK; son, Joseph "Joe" Stackhaus, LA; granddaughter, Deborah Angelene Ebenezer; grandson, Jonathan Randall Stackhaus; great-granddaughter, Felicity Oluwakemi Ebenezer. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie Stackhaus; brother, Andrew Ragsdale; and many other family members. Visitation will be from 6:00 ~ 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Larkin & Garcia Funeral Care. The family requests that you dress comfortably for both the visitation and funeral services.
