Marilyn Marie Searles

Marilyn Marie Searles,79, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on August 28th, 2020 after a strong and independent life. Marilyn was born on March 10, 1941 in Bigelow, Kansas to Mother Edna May Gaddis and Stepfather Pete Fransen of Frankfurt, Kansas. Marilyn attended Frankfurt High School where she excelled in Girls Glee, Mixed Chorus, Band, FHA, Senior Play prompter and Girls Basketball. Graduated in 1959. After graduation, she landed her first job as a Fruit Marketer for Kefer fruit market, finishing as a meat maker at Conagra/Swifts. In 1965 she met Donald Chester Searles, they wed on October 17, 1966. They went on to have 5 children, Darlene, Michael, Terri, Donna, and Deanna. Marilyn's children blessed her with 16 grand children and 24 great grandchildren. After retiring in 2006 Marilyn spent her time watching KC Royals, KC Chiefs, and KU basketball. She loved country music oldies mostly while drinking coffee in the morning. Playing with her pet Coco was one of her favorite past times. Marilyn was predeceased by husband Donald C Searles, Brothers Ronald, Rex Fransen and sister Carol Fransen. She is survived by Darlene Blasing, Michael Gaddis, Terri McMahan, Donna Garcia and Deanna Herrera.
