Richard Dean Tinsley, 61, was born in Topeka Kansas to his loving parents Carl and Parlee Irene Tinsley during spring of 1962. Richard grew up in Topeka, Kansas where as a child he loved to explore the outdoors. In his early years as a young man he could easily be found out in nature. Richard graduated from Highland Park High school in 1980. He married his highschool sweetheart, Jane Gilman in 1980. That same year Richard was blessed with his only child Dustin Scott. Richard adored being a father. Later in life he married his second wife Lisa Medley. Richard's natural temperament was laid back, giving and he was a family orientated guy. Everyone that knew him knew he had a joking sense of humor. Richard loved being surrounded by his children, family, and friends. He often shared his love for cookouts and the outdoors with all his loved ones by spending time with them camping, fishing, boating, and frog gigging. Not even the weather could hinder Richard's adventurous yet mellow spirit, he was always able to make the best of any day. Richard was also a huge reptile enthusiast, animal lover and couldn’t get enough of the feeling of the wind on his face while riding a Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

Later in life Richard could be found with his spouse of 17 years Tammi at his side as they enjoyed a quieter lifestyle. Richard spent his later days of life without ever missing a Chiefs game, NASCAR racing nor his soap operas with his family that he adored.

Richard will be greatly missed by many. His huge accepting heart was one of a kind as he always cared for anyone that crossed his path.

Richard was preceded in death by his brothers Robert E. Tinsley, David W. Tinsley and sister Carolyn I. LaFontaine and his step brother Jackie Roberts.

Richard is survived by his spouse Tammi Carroll. His son Dustin Tinsley and stepchildren; Rachael Carrol and Lee Carroll. Grandchildren; Kortni, Ryan, Colin, Phoenix and his great grandchild Annabel. Richard also leaves behind his siblings; Carl Tinsley (Joann), Sharon Harris (JL), Donna Roberts, Robin Youngs and Diane Tinsley. As well as his half siblings; Carl Tinsley, James Tinsley and Karla Worthington (Dan) and his step siblings Joe Roberts, Joann Tinsley, Josephine Howard and Judy Price.
