Rick E Salinas Jr, 61 years of Olathe, KS passed away on Saturday October 17th 2020 at his home surrounded by his family after a 4 month battle with liver cancer. Rick was born on July 23, 1959 in Scranton Pennsylvania to Yolanda (Garcia) Salinas and Ricardo E Salinas Sr. Rick is the 5th born of 6 siblings. He grew up traveling around the world as a military family. They lived in Japan and Belgium and other places. He was always finding ways to have some fun. One night in Belgium he and his brother took a phone book and ripped out every page one by one and made paper airplanes and flew them out the window. The next morning the street was covered with airplanes and they were on clean up duty. Rick was married to his wife, Cindy Jo, on September 27, 1985 in Olathe, KS. He worked as a painter for Kreimendahl Painting for the last 30 years. Rick was a die hard Chiefs fan, Royals fan, KU fan and Patriot. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and spending time with his grand kids. Rick is survived by his wife of 35 years Cindy J Salinas of Olathe, KS; 3 daughters Amelia Piccirillo and her husband David, Dawn Marshall and her husband Michael, Jessica Huayaban and her husband Joel all of Olathe KS. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 3 siblings Bob Salinas, his only sister and his youngest brother Rodney Salinas and his wife Claudia of Olathe, KS, 3 brother in-laws plus 15 nieces and nephews and his cat Dovah. Rick was predeceased by 2 siblings, 1 sister in law and his dogs Marcus and Molly Salinas. Services will be held on Thursday October 22nd at 10:00am at City Center Church located at 17500 W. 87th St Pkwy Lenexa, KS 66219. Visitation will be held at 9am 1 hour prior to the service. We will hold the burial service at 2:00 the same day at the Oak Lawn Memorial Garden located at 13901 S Black Bob Rd, Olathe, KS 66062. Larkin & Garcia Funeral Care is in charge of all funeral arrangements. Memorial donations can be sent to Cindy Salinas at PO Box 2601 Olathe, KS 66063 to help with funeral costs in lieu of flowers if so desired.
