Roberto Sustaita Jr. was born on October 2nd, 1970, to Roberto Sustaita Sr. and Martha Sylvia Licea at KU hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. Surrounded by his family that he adored, he gained his wings on November 18, 2024, in Shawnee, Kansas.
Roberto spent most of his childhood in Argentine, Kansas where he attended New Stanley Elementary School, Argentine Middle School and graduated from Harmon High School. His favorite subject in school was history. At the age of 16, he met the love of his life, Raquel Alejandra. They shared their first kiss and decided they wanted to share a life together forever. On August 19th, 1995, they were united through a civil marriage at the courthouse. They had their Catholic wedding less than a year later on April 13th, 1996. Roberto will always be remembered as a husband whose pride and joy was his wife. Before having children, Raquel Alejandra was his joy and his whole world.
A year after their marriage, Roberto had his first baby girl, Isidora Alejandra. Four years later their second baby girl, Siboney was born. Five years later, his little co-pilot, his minion and his last baby girl, Roberta Victoria was born. Just two years later, they welcomed their babyboy Roberto Alejandro. Roberto worked very hard all his life to give his wife and children a happy life. He made sure they always had a smile on their face and they will cherish his jokes, his laugh and the happiness that he brought them for the rest of their lives.
Roberto also enjoyed watching his favorite movies: The Minions (because they spoke Spanish sometimes and that made him happy), The Shining, The Thing, Blazing Saddles, and Beverley Hills Cop. His family will cherish watching his favorite shows by his side, Sanford and Son, Good Times, Forensic Files, serial killer documentaries and war documentaries. Everyone knows that he was also very romantic, but what everyone may not know is that he was an artist. He loved to draw monsters but his favorite thing to draw was portraits of his wife. His creativity did not stop here! In his earlier years, he created small battle ships out of toothpicks and glue for his two older daughters. Fun fact: he made similar battle ships since the age of ten. As a family man, he also enjoyed play fighting with his kids and watching WWE by their sides. Roberto made friends anywhere that he went. He was a jokester, loved to tease people to make them laugh and was a flirt with the ladies. The one thing that could make him mad was being cold or being in the dark. The lights stayed on all day at their house, and he always was dressed in warm clothes. Roberto came from a big family and his presence will be missed by many people in the Kansas City area.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Don Rey and Donia Conchita; paternal grandma, Maria Sustaita.
He is survived by his wife, Raquel Alejandra de Sustaita: Children, Isidora Alejandra, Siboney Monserrat, Roberta Victoria and Robert Alejandro Sustaita: his first grandchild: many family members and friends.
Message from his wife:
“Mi Viejito te ame desde que te vi a los 12 años. Siempre te ame y te amare por siempre. Eres el amor de mi vida. Gracias por todo lo que me diste, por mis hijos y por tu amor. Siempre te voy a amar viejito.”
The Family would like to thank everyone who has reached out during these times. They ask that you please keep them in your prayers.
