Roger Warren Whitney,74, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2022 at home with his daughter, Aubrey, by his side. Roger was born on April 13, 1948 to Alice and Warren Whitney in Shawnee, Kansas. A decorated SP4, Roger served three tours in Vietnam with Company B, 2nd Battalion (Airmoble) 8th Cavalry and awarded Bronze Star Medal on 1970 for his sacrifice, bravery and honor while serving his country. After serving, Roger worked at the family business, Bob’s Body Shop in downtown Lenexa, KS until his retirement. Roger was passionate about fixing up old cars, antiquing, the 4th of July and Pepsi. Roger was survived by Sandy, his wife of 32 years, his 3 sisters, 2 daughters, 2 step daughters, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Roger requested a celebration of life (Big Party) be held in his honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Roger’s loved one to join us in celebrating his beautiful life at Aubrey’s home on July 16th at 11am.
